We are re-opening on Monday June 1st following the guidelines from the Province of Ontario and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
What efforts are making to ensure everyone’s health and safety?
Gloves, masks and face shields are worn by the staff in the office. We regularly clean and sanitize all surfaces, and as always – fresh sheets and towels are used for every patient. We adjusted our schedules and treatments are offered by appointment only, with empty time slots between patients to allow us to clean our facility and ensure social distancing.
In addition, we have taken courses provided by the government and CMTO to ensure proper hygiene and reduce the risk of contamination, and we are following all guidelines set by the government of Ontario to combat the spread of the virus.
How you can help:
Every patient will be required to fill a questionnaire prior to admission, and soon we will start using non-contact digital thermometers to ensure our patients are symptom free. Please wear a face mask when you enter our clinic; and if you are feeling unwell or exhibiting any symptoms, we ask you to call so we can reschedule your appointment to a later date.
We hope to see you in our clinic soon.
Child Massage Classes
Good day to all.
Today, I wanted to turn to mothers who have small children, specifically babies in their first year. Of course, you know that at this age it is very important to follow the regimen: eat on schedule, spend time outdoors and do easy massage and basic exercise for your baby.
Today I would like to talk about the general infant massage for a child of the first year of life. Massage is one of the main tools in the proper development of babies. This is because with massage (light stroking): blood circulation increases and all cells of the body are saturated with oxygen. This causes the child to feel good, their sleep becomes deeper and longer and digestion improves.
With the help of massage and light exercise, you can cope well with bloating, gas and colic.
And if you are not completely sure that you are doing the right thing, or you are afraid to do something that may impact your baby’s health, come to our center and I will teach you. I am a Certified Infant Masssge Instructor.
In the company of mothers just like you, we will learn step-by-step to do the massage. We will discuss sore topics, share tips, and the atmosphere will be the warmest and friendliest!!
Let me know if you are interested in this information and would like to take a course in children's massage, and I will send you an invitation.
Classes are very small, only 3-4 adults and of course, their kids!
I will be glad to see you all in our Family Wellness Center- “3 Generations Care”
See you soon and be healthy!
Due to the evolving situation with the COVID-19 Pandemic we want to reassure our valued customers that we taken all pre-cautions to ensure the continued health and safety of everyone.
Treatments are given by appointment, and due to the size of our team, there is minimal exposure to other individuals. We are using freshly cleaned and sanitized sheets and towels for every customer. In addition, we are sanitizing all surfaces throughout the day.
At the time, we remain open and are closely monitoring the messages provided by the local and federal government, and will act accordingly should the situation change.
Sport Massage for Better Performance!
Why are fitness classes recommended to be combined with massage courses? For the effective solution of the tasks that a person sets themselves. Coming to fitness, people first of all want to improve their physical as well as psychological state, massage can essentially help with this. In fact, massage is a type of physical exertion. Therefore, depending on the intensity, it can be a warm-up before training, to get into the right physical and emotional state.
Massage after exercise can restore the body and bring it into equilibrium. During exercise, toxins and lactic acid accumulate in the muscles. Therefore, a person feels tired, which in turn causes emotional stress – massage helps one feel more invigorated and balanced. Massage will help relieve muscle tension, remove metabolic products and restore the cardiovascular system, bringing the heart rate back to normal.
Massage is more effective after exercise, when the muscles are already warm - less time is spent to prepare them for the solution of the main task, which is set before the massage. The types of training that a person is engaged in do not matter. If the technique is applied correctly, the body is still grateful. But when people have not developed or pumped muscles, it is bad for their health. A massage can bring the body to a normal state.
Massage and Pregnancy: Benefits of Prenatal Massage
Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joints pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, one of which is called Swedish Massage.
Swedish Massage aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body. Swedish Massage is the recommended massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts.
Hormone Regulation: Studies done in the past 10 years have shown that hormone levels associated with relaxation and stress are significantly altered when massage therapy is introduced to women’s prenatal care. This leads mood regulation and improved cardiovascular health.
Reduction of Swelling: Edema, or swelling of the joints during pregnancy, is often caused by reduce circulation and increased pressure on the major blood vessels by the heavy uterus. Massage helps to stimulate soft tissue to reduce collection of fluids in swollen joints. This also improves the removal of tissue waste carried by body’s lymphatic system.
Nerve Pain: Sciatica nerve pain is experienced by many women in late pregnancy as the uterus rest on muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back. The pressure of the uterus spread tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg, causing them to swelling and put pressure on nearby nerve. Massage therapy addresses the inflamed nerves by helping to release the tension on nearby muscles. Many women have experienced a significant reduction in sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy through massage.
In our center, 3 Generations Care, we provide massage therapy for pregnancy, we have special pillows, and wide warm tables for your comfort and relaxation during your treatment.
